RESIDENCIES

2017 Ancient Scent: Ireland – participating artist on one year long residency working with the art techniques and writing of British female Surrealist, Ithell Colquhoun. Nine days were spent travelling to significant sites in the Irish landscape gathering research and materials. The project will culminate in an exhibition and publication.

2016 Ancient Scent: Cornwall – participating artist on one year long residency based in Lamorna, West Cornwall, working with the art techniques and writing of British female Surrealist, Ithell Colquhoun, culminating in an exhibition of works in collaboration with Peter Owen Publishings and two publications.

2015 Water-Meadow-Wood – lead artist on a year long residency based at Yeovil Country Park, Somerset, funded by SAW and the Arts Council, culminating in several workshops and an exhibition of works.

 

COLLECTIONS

Work held in many private collections, both UK and international, and the public collections of Close Ltd, Exeter University and Bristol University (PhD Hydrology faculty).

Lead artist for InspirED/Somerset Art Works running ‘En Plein Air’ painting sessions for four Somerset primary schools, leading to an exhibition of works at Hestercombe Gallery and Tacchi Morris Theatre.

Visiting Art Tutor running a series of dedicated GCSE art workshops in painting and drawing with Fairmead Community Special School, Yeovil, Somerset.

2016

Specialist art workshops working sensitively with a group of adult trauma survivors undertaking a recovery programme with national charity ‘Escaping Victimhood’.

Lead artist for Take Art running eight arts based activity mornings at Bizzikids Nursery in Taunton, Somerset as part of the ‘Creative Elements: Exploring ECEC creativity in Somerset’ project. Includes joint case study and research development.

Visiting Art Tutor running a series of dedicated GCSE art workshops in painting and drawing with Fairmead Community Special School, Yeovil, Somerset.

2015

Specialist Art Workshop Leader with RAISE (Racial Awareness, Inclusion, Support and Education), a group of young people based in Yeovil aged 4 – 12 with English as a second language.

Land of the Summer People – lead artist working in collaboration with PhD Hydrology students from Exeter University to enable creative thinking and deeper understanding of the movement of flood on the Somerset Levels.

Outdoor art workshops for disabled children of all ages and their families through Short Breaks organisation, Yeovil, Somerset. 

Specialist Art Workshop Leader at Fairmead Community Special School, Yeovil.  Introducing making art in the landscape to young people from Key Stage 1 – 5 with a range of learning difficulties along with complex physical and emotional needs.

Art workshops for children of all ages/ abilities and their families at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, as part of Somerset Art Weeks.

Summer School collaborative Pinhole Camera/Camera Obscura/Photography workshops for Year 7 – 10 – Bishop Fox’s Secondary School, Taunton, Somerset.

Specialist Workshop Leader (Mixed Media) for S4S3 Somerset Secondary Schools Common Inset Day (reconnecting art teachers with their practice) – The Blue School, Wells, Somerset.
